Supporting community engagement events that promote traffic safety is one of the many ways that SafeSpeed expresses its commitment to reducing red light running crashes and saving lives.

The National Night Out is a nationwide community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. This year, SafeSpeed’s foundation, SafeLIGHT, sponsored events in Dolton and Matteson, providing free ice cream to attendees, which included residents, elected officials and police, fire and public works employees.

Engagement with community residents and officials included Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard, Village Administrator Dorothy Brown Cook, Police Chief Robert Collins, Commander Riley, Commander Staples, Deputy Chief Steve Curry and several other Dolton Police and Fire representatives. Matteson’s event included Village President Sheila Chalmers Currin and Police Chief Michael Jones.
